Miguel Gonzalez, also known as M-Lon, is a Venezuelan-Australian visual artist based in Sydney. With over 15 years of professional experience and a degree in architecture, he has established himself as an expert in mural art, illustration and animation. Since his move to Australia in 2013, he has left a lasting impact on the art scene with his distinct signature style and figurative yet conceptual approach. His work often addresses social issues and human behavior, using figurative elements and technology to create experiences. He is recognised for his ability to infuse his work with a powerful social and conceptual undertone.
His work creating large-scale murals for private, corporate, and institutional clients such as Tokyo Joe, Birkenhead Point, Nettleton Tribe Architecture Studio, Northern Beaches Council, Manly Public Library, Colormaker Industries, and many public schools, has gained him recognition as a leading mural artist in the area. He has also contributed to the TV industry working on concept art, character design, and animation for major streaming platforms such as Netflix, HBO, and Stan (BUMP). Miguel is represented by The Drawing Arm.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Miguel is an active member of the community and has played a key role in fostering the local art scene through his work as a Co-Founder of La Crème Creative Inc, and Brookvale Arts District (BAD). He has also participated in numerous national and international group and solo exhibitions, art fairs, and his work has been featured in press and magazines. He is also a speaker in creative panel events such as REMIX Summit Sydney and Northern Beaches Council Creative Draft. Miguel is also a Co-Founder and Creative Director of Kayapa Creative Studio and has supported different artist-run initiatives and local creative spaces.
